Overview
Installs Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
Install
Install the "kube-prometheus-stack" Helm chart.
Various walkthroughs seem to prefer to name the Prometheus namespace "prom". We shall use this conventions.
helm repo add prometheus-community https://prometheus-community.github.io/helm-charts
helm repo add stable https://kubernetes-charts.storage.googleapis.com/
helm repo update
kubectl create ns prom
helm install -n prom prometheus prometheus-community/kube-prometheus-stack
Optionally, perform the post-install steps.
Post-Install
- Expose Prometheus console in Kubernetes
- Expose Grafana locally over a LoadBalancer service
- Recover (or change) Grafana password
- Set Grafana light theme
Uninstall
helm uninstall -n prom prometheus
