Initial Setup
Tools -> Account Settings -> Account Actions -> Add Mail Account.
Update "Your name", "Email address", "Password".
The account is autodetected, and IMAP/SSL, SMPT/SSL is offered. The authentication is done with OAuth2, so a password window will pop up. I will need to grant access to "Mozilla Thunderbird Email"
Post-Configuration:
Click on the account -> Account Name: relevant and short account name.
Server Settings:
- Check for new messages at startup
- Check for new messages every 3 minutes
- Allow immediate server notification when a new message arrives
- When I delete a message, move it to Trash
Message Storage:
- Clean up ("Expunge") Inbox on Exit
- Empty Trash on Exit
Copies and Folders:
- Place a copy in "Sent"
- Bcc these email addresses: original-address
- Unselect "Keep message archives", unless you want to use the feature. More about Message Archives.
Synchronization & Storage:
Message Synchronizing: Important Select "Keep messages for this account on this computer" then go to Advanced and select on a per folder basis: Inbox, Drafts and Send.
