NOMBP4 Installation

System Preferences → Printers and Scanners → The "+" sign → "HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 [F232F8]" must already be detected → Select it → Use should be "Secure AirPrint" → Pull the drop-down → Select Software → Cancel → Auto Select → Should auto-select "Secure AirPrint" → Add. T

The printer panel should have both a Print and a Scan tab (I installed HP Smart before, and maybe that is why it detected the scanner now).

Installation on Mac

Installation using the default driver (Generic PLC Printer) did not work well. Could not select photo paper, etc. Must download the HP drivers and use them.

Go online, lookup the printer and download.

http://hp.com -> Support -> Software and Drivers -> HP OfficeJet Pro 8725 -> Driver-Product Installation Software -> HP Easy Start -> Download

Double click HP Easy Start -> Setup my HP Product -> ... must detect it -> Continue -> ... Install -> Essential Software, HP Easy Scan, Product Help.

Upon installation of the drivers and "Continue" I get this message:

Would you like to use the HP printer driver? A generic printer driver is assigned to your printer. This driver provides basic features and it supported for use with your printer. However, to ensure access to all of the features of your printer it is recommended that you use the HP printer driver.

Switch to the HP Driver

After the installation of the driver, I need to install the printer again with System Preferences, using the "HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 All-in-One":

System Preferences -> Printers & Scanners -> + -> (it should have been detected automatically via Bonjour) HP OfficeJet Pro 8720, Kind: Bonjour Multifunction.

Name: HP OfficeJet Pro 8725

Location: Ovidiu's Office

Use: Auto-Select -> Generic PCL Printer

Setting up "HP OfficeJet Pro 8725..."
