Overview

Installing the O/S with Lifecycle Controller is the preferred way of installing the O/S on the Dell Servers, because the O/S drivers are pre-loaded the installation process. According to Dell documentation, "the O/S is smoothly installed as all components are well recognized by the O/S".

Procedure

  • Press F10 during the boot cycle to enter the Lifecycle Controller.
  • Home Page -> Left Menu -> OS Deployment.
  • Deploy OS
  • Go Directly to OS Deployment
  • Boot mode: BIOS
  • Available Operating Systems: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2:
  • Preparing drivers for the selected operating system ...
  • Manual Install
  • Insert the following media, then click Next.
  • Click Finish to continue the installation.
  • Follow RHEL 7 Installation if installing a server or RHEL 7 Virtualization Host Installation if installing a virtualization host.
