Brew

brew install --cask vagrant

Manual

https://www.vagrantup.com/downloads.html → .dmg → double-click vagrant.pkg.

Test installation: 

vagrant version

Upgrade

Brew

brew cask upgrade vagrant

Note that it does not remove its global state directory ~/.vagrant.d.
