Overview
Upgrade from 5.0.4 r102564 to 5.1, then from 5.1 to 5.1.8.
Virtual Box -> Check for Updates ...
Download
VirtualBox 5.1 for OS X hosts amd64
Procedure
Double click VirtualBox-5.1.0-108711-OSX.dmg -> double click VirualBox.pkg
This package will run a program to determine if the software can be installed.
Continue.
The hypervisor will be upgraded without any other questions.
When attempting it to start:
"You have an old version (5.0.4) of the Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack installed. Do you wish to download the latest one? -> Download -> ... The Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack has been successfully downloaded from .... Do you wish to install this extension pack? -> Install -> An older version of the extension pack is already installed, would you like to upgrade -> Upgrade. ... The extension pack Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack was installed successfully.
