Overview
Use an external USB disk with a case-sensitive encrypted APFS file system. This way, data is protected natively.
When formatting it, name the filesystem "RackStationB".

Procedure:
Mount the target RackStation volume.
Rsync (careful with the trailing slashes)
rsync -avz /Volumes/base /Volumes/RackStationB
