Overview
Updating the firmware via the LifeCycle controller implies that the LifeCycle controller has been already configured. If this is not the case, perform the following procedure: Dell LifeCycle Controller Initial Setup Procedure.
The current firmware component versions can be obtained from the LifeCycle controller by going to the Home Screen -> Firmware Update -> View Current Versions.
Firmware includes:
- BIOS: 2.4.2
- Network: Broadcom Gigabit Ethernet BCM5720: 20.2.17
- Dell 32 Bit uEFI Diagnostics: 4239A36
- Dell OS Driver Pack: 16.10.10
- Disk 0 on Integrated RAID Controller: DS04
- Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller: 2.41.40.40
- Lifecycle controller: 2.41.40.40
- OS Collector: 2.1
- PERC H33 Mini: 25.5.2.0001
- System CPLD 1.0.3
Procedures
Download Individual Update Packages and Apply Them via LifeCycle Controller
Download individual packages, following these procedures:
Start LifeCycle controller by pressing F10 at boot.
Home Screen -> Left-site Menu -> Firmware Update -> Launch Firmware Update.
Step 1: Select Update Repository
Local Drive (CD or DVD or USB).
Note that the USB has to have the update package present.
Did not work, the installer failed with "Unable to verify the digital signature of the Update Package. (SUP0525)".
