Overview
The hypervisor must be installed only once on a host system, then kept up to date via upgrades.
Download
Download the latest from https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads and pick the OS X amd64 build.
Also download the corresponding VirtualBox Extension Pack from the same download page or http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/5.0.4.
Also download the corresponding VBoxGuestAdditions_5.0.4.iso from http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/5.0.4.
Installation
Double-click on VirtualBox-5.0.4-102546-OSX.dmg -> Double-click on VirtualBox.pkg.
Change Install Location -> "Install for all users of this computer"
Continue
Customize - everything is selected.
Install
Writing files, running package scripts, etc.
The installation was successful -> Close.
Then run VirtualBox from the Applications folder.
As soon as the icon shows in dock -> Right click -> Options -> Keep in dock.
Install Extensions
Extensions are supposed to be installed in top of VirtualBox - no guest needs to be created.
They should have been downloaded already. If not download from http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/5.0.4/
Double-click on Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-5.0.4-102546.vbox-extpack.
You are about to install ... -> Install.
Keep the VBoxGuestAdditions.iso handy, we'll install it after we install guests.
Create VMs
Next, create a VM. The procedure is available here: virtual machine creation.
