Environment Variables

To get an environment variable:

import os

print(os.environ.get('HOME'))

If the environment variable does not exist, the call will get None

To set an environment variable:

import os
os.environ['MY_VAR'] = 'myvalue'

If the environment variable does not exist, the call will get None
